About your new role:

The Head Chef is a key role with responsibility for the efficient execution of facility based catering whilst providing effective leadership of the kitchen employees on a shift basis.

Duties:

  • Prepare, cook, and serve food in accordance with menus ensuring a high level of quality and presentation is achieved at all times according to agreed standards
  • Oversee the appropriate receiving and storage of food
  • Maintaining HACCP procedures and practices
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and plant in good condition
  • Provide direction and support to all catering employees
  • Plan and implement daily food preparation list for effective production
  • Analysis of all aspects of the operation to monitor and audit performance to ensure continuous improvements are achieved
  • Ensure that adequate employees are rostered and report to the Facility Manager/ Scheduler any shortfalls
  • Assist in providing regular feedback to all catering employees
  • Comply with all aspects of OH&S compliance

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in the hospitality environment, creating and motivating an innovative team that is able to achieve high standards of Customer Service
  • Must have a high expectation in terms of quality and satisfaction and the ability to share this with the team
  • The ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Capacity to lift up to 20kg.
  • Commitment to providing a customer-centric approach 
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check (NDIS)
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical
