About BaptistCare

As a leading not-for-profit Christian-based care organisation, we’ve been delivering exceptional, person-focused care to older Australians and people living with disadvantage since 1944.

We are proud to be part of a newly merged national care organisation, BaptistCare, committed to providing exceptional support and services across Australia.

Together with Baptcare (VIC, TAS, SA) and Baptist Care SA, we employ over 12,000 dedicated employees and support over 38,000 customers to help people live well with dignity and purpose.

At BaptistCare, we believe that our people are our greatest asset. That’s why we’re committed to providing a supportive, inclusive, and engaging workplace, placing employee wellbeing right at the centre.

At the heart of BaptistCare’s operations is a people-first philosophy. We believe our employees are our greatest asset and work hard to foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging workplace.

The emphasis on care extends beyond clients to include the wellbeing of every team member. Staff are encouraged to grow professionally and personally, supported by flexible work arrangements, wellbeing initiatives, and a strong sense of purpose.

Purpose, Vision and Values

BaptistCare’s purpose is to create strong and caring communities that value personal wellbeing and mutual respect. The organisation’s vision is rooted in the belief that genuine care can transform lives.

Core values include love, respect, empowerment, and reliability. These principles guide every interaction and decision, ensuring that clients feel valued, supported, and confident in the care they receive. BaptistCare strives to be a place where people feel they belong and are empowered to live well.

Reconciliation Action Plan

BaptistCare has launched its first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in partnership with Reconciliation Australia. This plan reflects a deep commitment to building a culturally safe and inclusive organisation where First Nations people are welcomed and embraced.

The RAP outlines a roadmap for strengthening relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, acknowledging past injustices and working towards healing and unity.

The artwork titled Pathway to Unity by Kyralee Shields, a proud Darug and Darkinjung woman, symbolises this journey. BaptistCare invites all staff, clients, and stakeholders to walk together in reconciliation.

BaptistCare prioritises the health and safety of its employees and clients through its STAR approach: Stop, Think, Act, Review.

This framework encourages continuous awareness and proactive safety practices in the workplace. BaptistCare has achieved certification under the Australian Standard AS/NZS4801 for Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems, covering its residential aged care centres and head office.

This certification sets BaptistCare apart as a leader in workplace safety within the aged care and community services sector, giving employees confidence in the organisation’s commitment to a safe working environment.
