About BaptistCare

Learn about BaptistCare’s mission, values and people. As one of Australia’s leading not-for-profit aged care organisations, we support people and communities through aged care, housing and community services.

At BaptistCare, your career is more than a job.

Here, every conversation you have, connection you make, and service you provide can open up new possibilities for our customers.

You’ll join an organisation with a long history of supporting people and communities across Australia.

For more than 110 years, we’ve provided care, connection and practical support across our residential aged care, home care, retirement living, community services, disability support and housing services - making us one of the most established not-for-profit care organisations in Australia.

Guided by our Christian identity, our focus is simple: helping people find new ways to live better.

At BaptistCare, that’s what we work towards every day - creating communities where everyone can live to their full potential.

We’ve brought our organisation together under one united BaptistCare brand, making it easier to recognise who we are, what we stand for, and the care we provide.

Today, as one of the largest care providers in Australia, BaptistCare supports more than 78,000 customers with the help of over 12,000 employees and close to 2,000 volunteers across the country.

It’s this broad footprint covering both metropolitan hubs and regional communities that also enables our employees to have more flexibility and choice in where they work.

“I want to stay with BaptistCare because of the strong values and the focus on person-centred care. It feels like a place where I can truly make a difference.”

Our purpose, vision and values

At BaptistCare, our vision, purpose and values guide who we are and how we serve people and communities.

They reflect what we believe about people, the change we want to see in the world, and the way we work together every day.

At BaptistCare, our vision is to create communities where everyone can live to their full potential.

As an organisation we are inspired by the compassionate and humble way Jesus cared for all people, especially those who were often overlooked – and it is this care for all people that also guides our commitment to being open, welcoming and inclusive of people of all faiths, backgrounds and beliefs.

The BaptistCare vision and purpose is brought to life through our values:

Reconciliation Action Plan

BaptistCare has launched its first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in partnership with Reconciliation Australia. This plan reflects a deep commitment to building a culturally safe and inclusive organisation where First Nations people are welcomed and embraced.

The RAP outlines a roadmap for strengthening relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, acknowledging past injustices and working towards healing and unity.

As part of our commitment to creating safe and welcoming communities, BaptistCare continues to strengthen culturally safe environments for children, young people, families and employees across NSW, the ACT and Australia more broadly.

The artwork titled Pathway to Unity by Kyralee Shields, a proud Darug and Darkinjung woman, symbolises this journey. BaptistCare invites all staff, clients, and stakeholders to walk together in reconciliation.

Safety

BaptistCare prioritises the health and safety of its employees and clients through its STAR approach: Stop, Think, Act, Review.

This framework encourages continuous awareness and proactive safety practices in the workplace. BaptistCare has achieved certification under the Australian Standard AS/NZS4801 for Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems, covering its residential aged care centres and head office.

This certification sets BaptistCare apart as a leader in workplace safety within the aged care and community services sector, giving employees confidence in the organisation’s commitment to a safe working environment.
