About BaptistCare Gracewood Centre

Located in the heart of the Hills district, The Gracewood Centre is a brand new aged care centre in Kellyville featuring convenient onsite amenities including a café, landscaped gardens and a chapel. The facility offers 96 general care rooms and 32 secure dementia care rooms with built in ceiling hoists.

As a purpose built facility, the latest technology has been included to ensure residents are well looked after. Our team of professional staff are dedicated to delivering the best possible care to residents. The Gracewood Centre is an integral part of the wider community and is co-located on site with a Social Club, Home Care and Retirement Living.

 

About the role

Reporting to the Chef Manager, your role is to cook and create quality and nutritious meals for our residents. You will lead and manage staff and resources efficiently to deliver the highest quality and safety in food services.

Mealtimes are very important to our residents, often a time they look forward to so continuous improvement in the meals we offer is vital. You will need to speak directly to our residents, gaining their feedback and making adjustments.

 

Duties include:

  • Commercial cooking operations
  • High quantity daily cooking (156 clients)
  • Stock control, preparing menus, adhering to the budget
  • Ensuring high quality presentation of all meals to residents
  • Management of the facility Café 

 

About you:

The ideal candidate will have:

•A Qualification in Commercial Cookery ,Certificate III of Proficiency, or other recognised certification such as armed forces qualifications.

•At least 5 years’ Chef experience post completion of apprenticeship in a large catering or multi-outlet environment.

•Demonstrated application of knowledge of HACCP, FSANZ and NSW Food Authority standards and principles.
 
•Demonstrated ability utilising effective oral and written communications skills.
 
•Demonstrated ability to work effectively unsupervised
