About the role:

Baptistcare is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist to join our residential aged care team at our 98 bed Gracehaven in Rockingham. 

Depending on your location, a pool car may be available for travel to Rockingham. Vehicles can be reserved in advance and collected from our Belmont head office.

In this role, you will assess residents to identify their capabilities and develop personalised care plans aimed at supporting their physical and emotional well-being. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older Australians while working within a supportive and values-driven team.

You will work closely with the Lifestyle Coordinator to develop and review programs that promote residents' independence and quality of life. You will also provide leadership and clinical supervision to the Lifestyle Coordinator and Therapy and Leisure Partners to ensure care plans are effectively implemented.

Your responsibilities include conducting assessments, monitoring residents' needs, and building trusting relationships with residents based on dignity and respect. You will listen to family concerns, provide guidance on changing needs, and refer for additional support when necessary.

About you:

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist
• Strong understanding of contemporary Occupational Therapy practices, particularly within the aged care sector
• Sound knowledge of the key issues and challenges faced in aged care
• Passion for applying your skills to support and improve outcomes in aged care settings
• Proven ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
• Skilled in contributing to care planning and delivery through collaboration and negotiation
• Strong understanding of the importance of a team-based approach to client care
• Ability to build meaningful connections with older people
• Demonstrates empathy, respect, and understanding in all interactions
• Committed to maintaining dignity and enhancing quality of life for clients
• Ensures individuals feel heard, valued, and supported
