About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to shape something meaningful from the ground up.
As Incident & Investigations Manager, you will lead BaptistCare’s newly established enterprise wide incident management and investigation function, setting the standard for trauma informed, person centred and defensible investigation practice across the organisation.
In this influential national role, you will guide responses to serious incidents, safeguarding matters and systemic risks with empathy, integrity and rigour ,ensuring people feel heard, supported and respected, while strengthening safety and accountability.
Reporting to the Head of Clinical Governance & Performance, you will provide strategic leadership across investigation frameworks, methodologies and governance. Working in partnership across multiple service streams and jurisdictions, you will turn investigation insights into meaningful improvements, organisational learning and safer outcomes for the people and communities we serve.
This is a full‑time, permanent position that can be based from any BaptistCare shared services office in WA, NSW, VIC, ACT or SA, with national scope and interstate travel as required.

- Lead and embed BaptistCare’s national enterprise wide incident management and investigation frameworks.
- Oversee complex, high‑risk and sensitive investigations across diverse service streams.
- Ensure investigations are trauma‑informed, culturally safe, timely and defensible.
- Translate investigation findings into meaningful corrective actions and service improvements.
- Uplift organisational capability in investigations, safeguarding and root cause analysis.
- Ensure compliance across aged care, disability, WHS and child‑safe regulatory environments.
- Provide clear, high‑quality insights and advice to Executive leaders, the Board and regulators.
- Build trusted partnerships that support learning, accountability and continuous improvement.

About You
You are an experienced and confident leader who brings both professional rigour and genuine compassion to investigation work.
Essential:
- A relevant tertiary qualification (health, human services, law, investigations, risk or similar), or equivalent experience
- Extensive experience leading incident management, investigations, safeguarding, quality, risk or governance in regulated environments
- Proven expertise managing complex and sensitive investigations
- Strong understanding of aged care, disability, community services or similar regulatory frameworks
- Demonstrated leadership across multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments
- High‑level written communication, sound judgement and executive influencing capabilities
- A current Australian driver’s licence and capacity to travel nationally
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualifications in governance, leadership, public health or similar
- Specialist training in investigations, root cause analysis, trauma informed practice or safeguarding
- Experience in research translation, quality improvement or sector innovation
- Experience working within not for profit or mission driven organisations
