Media & PR Specialist
- 498116
- Baulkham Hills, NSW, Australia, 2153
- Max Term Part-Time
• Fast-paced, friendly and energetic team with great culture
• Drive PR and media campaigns that will change lives and attitudes
• Share stories about the people, issues and communities BaptistCare supports
At BaptistCare, people are at the heart of everything we do. As our new Media & PR Specialist, you’ll be at the centre of telling powerful stories and protecting our reputation across Australia. Working nationally across NSW, ACT, WA, SA, VIC and TAS, you’ll collaborate with senior leaders and frontline teams to generate media cut-through, drive engaging communications, and share the voices of our customers and communities in ways that change hearts, minds, and lives.
About the role:
This isn’t PR as you know it. This is national PR with heart. Your role will see you support, build and protect the reputation of the BaptistCare brand across all streams of our organisation - from aged care to housing and community services.
You will work closely with the Media & PR Manager and the Head of Media & Communications to activate our PR and media strategy, while jumping in on select communication projects that make a real difference.
One day you will be pitching aged care reform stories to national journalists, the next you will be writing a feature about our incredible volunteers or preparing a case study about seniors who have hit their 100 year milestone. Your work will span the real issues facing our communities and our country; from homelessness to food security, domestic and family violence to retirement living, ageing well and issues that affect young people.
You will feel valued and valuable as you create and pitch compelling content, build relationships with media, and drive coverage that genuinely shifts hearts, minds, and conversations. You know how to craft the story, pull the data, and package the visuals to make headlines.
And yes, sometimes PR means you will take those after-hours media calls (thankfully not too many), but you’ll be supported by a team that has your back and knows how to laugh while delivering.
This is a maximum term for up to 12 months, part time (3 days/wk) role, working across NSW, ACT, WA, SA, VIC and TAS, and a fantastic opportunity to be part of a friendly, purpose-driven team making a difference every day. Some travel may be required.
We are also recruiting a four-day week Media & Advocacy Specialist. If you have skills in PR, Media and advocacy campaigning, either role might be great for you.
