Two days a week. One close-knit community. Real work that makes a difference.

If you’re a hands-on maintenance professional looking for stable part-time hours in a role where your work is genuinely seen and appreciated, this is worth a look.

BaptistCare’s Kitty Doyle Apartments in Five Dock is home to a vibrant community of seniors.

We’re looking for a part-time Maintenance Officer to keep this well-loved complex running at its best. Tuesday and Friday, 7am start. No nights, no unpredictability, no chaos.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Salary packaging up to $18,550 per year — significantly more take-home pay on top of your base.
  • Part-time hours — Tuesday & Friday. A consistent two-day roster that fits around your life.
  • Discounted gym memberships and novated car leasing.
  • Study assistance up to $3,000 per year plus access to LinkedIn Learning and development programs.
  • Free confidential counselling, spiritual support, and nutrition advice through our wellbeing program.

THE ROLE

You’ll be the go-to maintenance person at Kitty Doyle Apartments, working closely with the Housing Manager and report to the Area Manager, managing everything from day-to-day reactive jobs to planned preventative maintenance across the buildings, gardens, and communal areas. You’ll work closely with the Site Manager and report to the Area Manager (Property).

  • Carry out hands-on preventative and reactive maintenance across buildings, grounds, equipment, furniture, fittings, and gardens
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and site management
  • Liaise with and oversee contractors, tradespersons, and suppliers to BaptistCare’s standards
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activity and compliance checks
  • Maintain site vehicles, plant, and machinery in good working order
  • Ensure all activities comply with Social and Affordable Housing regulations and WHS requirements
  • Work closely with the Site Manager and Area Manager (Property) to deliver a high standard of property services

ABOUT KITTY DOYLE APARTMENTS

A vibrant community of seniors in 79 one and two-bedroom apartments in Five Dock. The complex features beautifully landscaped gardens, a BBQ area, a community centre, and a resident veggie garden. A smaller, well-loved site where your work is noticed and appreciated every day.

ABOUT YOU

You’re practical, reliable, and take pride in the spaces you look after. Aged care or community housing experience is a bonus, but what matters most is your attitude and your trade knowledge.

  • Hands-on experience in a maintenance role, performing both preventative and reactive tasks
  • Relevant trade qualification (highly regarded but not essential)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills — you run your own day
  • Experience working with and overseeing contractors and tradespersons
  • Demonstrated commitment to Work Health and Safety
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel, and Outlook; CMMS experience is a bonus
  • Empathy, patience, and genuine respect for the people who call this place home
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment (or willingness to obtain)
