HR Officer

12‑Month Max term | Full‑time | Based in Norwest, NSW

Help shape high‑quality, compliant people practices — and make a real difference.

We all want to be part of something bigger than ourselves. At BaptistCare, you’ll join an organisation with purpose — where care, dignity and quality sit at the heart of everything we do.

This is an opportunity for an experienced HR Officer to step into a 12‑month max term role supporting HR quality, compliance and employment practice across a large, diverse and values‑led organisation.

Why you’ll love this role

You’ll work at the intersection of people, policy and practice, helping ensure our HR and employment frameworks are clear, compliant and genuinely effective. Partnering closely with leaders and the broader People & Culture team, you’ll play a hands‑on role in lifting standards, strengthening governance and improving employee experience — beyond compliance.

The impact you’ll make

Reporting to the HR Services Lead – Quality & Compliance, you will:

  • Support delivery of high‑quality, compliant HR and employment practices across the organisation
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure people programs meet “Best BaptistCare practice” standards
  • Contribute to HR initiatives across the employee lifecycle — from applicant to alumni
  • Support key workforce practices including credentialing, work rights, WHS accreditations and child safeguarding
  • Assist with HR projects, continuous improvement initiatives and change activity
  • Provide HR reporting and analysis to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
  • Help ensure policies, procedures, systems and controls are implemented consistently and effectively
  • Maintain strong awareness of employment legislation, compliance frameworks and emerging risks

What you’ll bring

You’re a collaborative HR professional who enjoys working in structured environments, understands the importance of compliance, and can translate policy into practical outcomes.

Essential experience & skills:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline
  • Experience in HR, employment relations or people operations, ideally in a complex or regulated environment
  • Sound understanding of HR / IR practice, compliance obligations and workforce governance
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation and time‑management skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a team
  • Strong judgement, discretion and commitment to confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365
  • Demonstrated proficiency in HRIS, with a preference for experience in TechOne or comparable systems
  • Experience in aged care, health, disability or another highly regulated sector
  • Appreciation of and alignment with BaptistCare’s vision, purpose and values.
