About BaptistCare Gracewood Centre

Located in the heart of the Hills district, The Gracewood Centre is a brand new aged care centre in Kellyville featuring convenient onsite amenities including a café, landscaped gardens and a chapel. The facility offers 96 general care rooms and 32 secure dementia care rooms with built in ceiling hoists.

As a purpose built facility, the latest technology has been included to ensure residents are well looked after. Our team of professional staff are dedicated to delivering the best possible care to residents. The Gracewood Centre is an integral part of the wider community and is co-located on site with a Social Club, Home Care and Retirement Living.

About the role

BaptistCare Gracewood Centre is seeking a Catering Assistant on a casual basis to present and deliver high quality nutritious meals to our residents. You will enjoy working in a large team who are committed and being able make a difference in the lives of residents.


Duties may include:

  • Assistance in basic meal preparation and serving
  • Making tea and coffee
  • Assisting Chefs with food prep when required
  • Working to achieve and maintain a high standard of cleanliness
  • Checking and recording temperature of food
  • Following all Food Safety Guidelines and HACCP program
  • Assisting with deliveries of stock and stock rotation
       

About you

The successful applicant will be a team player who enjoys interacting with older people and has the right heart and drive to serve.

  • Previous kitchen/servery experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of work health and safety practices 
  • Ability to work unsupervised and take on physically demanding tasks
  • Previous experience in aged care (desirable)
  • Willingness to work as part of a busy, friendly team
  • Strong focus, positive attitude and is well organised
  • Excellent communication skills
