Maintenance Officer – Gracewood, Salter Point WA

Gracewood is located in Salter Point, a quiet, prestigious riverside enclave in Perth, Western Australia, just 8 km south of the CBD. Nestled along the Canning River, the area is known for its natural beauty, abundant outdoor spaces, and peaceful residential environment — making it a truly rewarding place to work and support our aged care community.

We’re looking for a dedicated Maintenance Officer to help keep our facility safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for the residents who call it home. This is a full-time, varied role where you’ll be on the tools every day — from painting and gardening to reactive and preventative maintenance. No two days are the same, and your work will be seen, valued, and appreciated.

The Role

You’ll be the go-to maintenance support onsite, managing a broad mix of tasks across buildings, grounds, and equipment. Painting and gardening are key parts of this role, alongside general maintenance duties. Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance across buildings, plant, equipment, furniture, and grounds
Painting (internal and external) — a core and ongoing part of the role
Maintaining gardens and outdoor areas including weeding, pruning, and general upkeep
Logging and managing maintenance requests through CMMS (Maintenance Connection)
Supporting site vehicles and managing loading dock areas
Ordering materials and equipment in line with organisational policies
Collaborating with the Maintenance Supervisor and Site Manager on budget planning and asset management
Responding to resident and staff maintenance requests professionally and in a timely manner.

About You

You’re practical, proactive, and take real ownership of your work. You don’t wait to be told what needs doing — you notice it and take action. You'll also have:

• Strong hands-on painting experience (residential, commercial, or facilities) — essential
• Practical gardening skills (weeding, pruning, general outdoor upkeep)
• General maintenance experience across buildings, equipment, or facilities
• A positive, “can-do” attitude and willingness to pitch in
• Basic computer skills (logging jobs, sending emails)
• Current driver’s licence
• Fire Safety Officer training (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience in aged care or healthcare (desirable)
