We’re seeking an experienced IT Security Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping secure, resilient, and scalable technology across a newly unified, national organisation. About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Cyber & Infrastructure, you’ll be a key member of the Cyber team, responsible for securing BaptistCare critical systems and sensitive information.
This is a hands‑on technical role where you will:
- Provide timely and effective support across servers, networking, hosting environments, and security platforms
- Deploy, configure, and maintain security controls to proactively manage cyber risks
- Contribute to organisation‑wide cyber uplift initiatives, improving controls, processes, and security maturity
- Support Microsoft platform work, including Microsoft Purview, M365 security, Azure security configuration, Microsoft Sentinel & Defender, and broader Microsoft ecosystem enhancements
- Support cloud security operations, including implementation, configuration and optimisation of Netskope cloud security
- Implement infrastructure and security initiatives aligned to best‑practice frameworks such as ASD Essential 8 and NIST including Patch/ Vulnerability Management, Access management and security administration.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow structured change management processes
- Work collaboratively with broader Information & Digital teams to ensure systems remain secure, stable, and well‑governed
About You
You’re an experienced infrastructure and cyber security professional who thrives in a hands‑on environment — someone who can troubleshoot complex issues, implement robust security controls, and support a diverse technology landscape with confidence.
You’ll bring:
- A degree in IT or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years)
- 3–5 years’ experience across cyber security operations, incident response, and vulnerability management
- Experience working in project environments, including time‑sensitive initiatives and BAU support
- Involvement in cyber uplift programs, with a strong understanding of modern security
- Hands‑on technical capability across Microsoft platforms, including Microsoft Purview, Azure, M365 security, and related technologies
- Experience with cloud security tools such as Netskope
- Strong knowledge of cloud security technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experience administering Microsoft technologies including AAD/ADFS, Office 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, Azure, and cloud connectivity
- Ability to identify and implement remediation actions from penetration tests, health checks, and vulnerability assessments
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
- Collaborative mindset, with experience working across broader IT teams
