At BaptistCare, technology isn’t just about systems — it’s about protecting people, empowering services, and enabling communities to thrive.
We’re seeking an experienced IT Security Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping secure, resilient, and scalable technology across a newly unified, national organisation. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a major cyber uplift program while contributing to meaningful work that genuinely impacts lives.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Cyber & Infrastructure, you’ll be a key member of the Cyber team, responsible for securing BaptistCare critical systems and sensitive information.

This is a hands‑on technical role where you will:

  • Provide timely and effective support across servers, networking, hosting environments, and security platforms
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain security controls to proactively manage cyber risks
  • Contribute to organisation‑wide cyber uplift initiatives, improving controls, processes, and security maturity
  • Support Microsoft platform work, including Microsoft Purview, M365 security, Azure security configuration, Microsoft Sentinel & Defender, and broader Microsoft ecosystem enhancements
  • Support cloud security operations, including implementation, configuration and optimisation of Netskope cloud security
  • Implement infrastructure and security initiatives aligned to best‑practice frameworks such as ASD Essential 8 and NIST including Patch/ Vulnerability Management, Access management and security administration.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow structured change management processes
  • Work collaboratively with broader Information & Digital teams to ensure systems remain secure, stable, and well‑governed

About You

You’re an experienced infrastructure and cyber security professional who thrives in a hands‑on environment — someone who can troubleshoot complex issues, implement robust security controls, and support a diverse technology landscape with confidence.

You’ll bring:

  • A degree in IT or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years)
  • 3–5 years’ experience across cyber security operations, incident response, and vulnerability management
  • Experience working in project environments, including time‑sensitive initiatives and BAU support
  • Involvement in cyber uplift programs, with a strong understanding of modern security
  • Hands‑on technical capability across Microsoft platforms, including Microsoft Purview, Azure, M365 security, and related technologies
  • Experience with cloud security tools such as Netskope
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Experience administering Microsoft technologies including AAD/ADFS, Office 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, Azure, and cloud connectivity
  • Ability to identify and implement remediation actions from penetration tests, health checks, and vulnerability assessments
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Collaborative mindset, with experience working across broader IT teams
