The impact you will create
As an Innovation Specialist, you will lead transformative initiatives that harness emerging technologies and human centered design to deliver smarter, more inclusive services across aged care, community, and housing. You will drive pilots and proofs of concept, from AI enabled care solutions to robotics assisted workflows, while embedding design led approaches grounded in lived experience, evidence, and our commitment to safe, high-quality care. What you will do.
Reporting into the General Manager, Innovation, Research & Partnerships, this is a full time 12 month maximum term position operating nationally. The incumbent can expect to travel regularly roughly every 6 weeks.
Key responsibilities
Lead a pipeline of high impact pilots, feasibility assessments, and proof of concepts that address real world pain points for customers and frontline teams.
Facilitate codesign workshops, design sprints and FLIP projects with colleagues and service teams to accelerate outcomes.
Partner closely with IT, Data & Analytics, and Practice/Governance to ensure initiatives are feasible, ethical, and scalable into service delivery.
Build capability through toolkits, training, and communities of practice—embedding curiosity, experimentation, and inclusive innovation.
Cultivate strategic partnerships with design experts, universities, and community organisations.
Translate insights into practice guidance, policy recommendations, and storytelling that elevates BaptistCare’s sector leadership

About You:
Tertiary qualifications in innovation, design, analytics, technology or similar, and hands on experience with agile, design thinking, and human centred design.
Proven delivery of complex, cross functional innovation projects; strength in facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement
Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or implementation science is highly regarded; experience in mission based or NFP environments is a plus.
