Estimator – Home Modifications

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Estimator to bring their residential building or home modifications expertise into a role with real purpose. As our Home Modifications Estimator, you’ll play a key part in delivering practical, compliant and value-for-money modification solutions that support client safety, independence and wellbeing.

Working closely with clients, carers, health professionals, contractors and internal teams, you’ll review proposed works, validate scopes, identify risks and prepare detailed cost estimates that meet funding requirements, building standards and BaptistCare policies.

• Review referrals, funding decisions and assessment documents to understand each client’s needs.
• Coordinate site inspections to confirm measurements, access, conditions and practical requirements.
• Prepare accurate estimates across labour, materials, subcontractors and project requirements.
• Price works using agreed rates, current market conditions and relevant policy requirements.
• Partner with clients, carers and health professionals to shape practical, person-centred solutions.
• Help build and improve estimating tools, templates and standard scopes.
• Stay connected to industry practice through relevant forums and professional networks.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, value, quality and estimating accuracy.

About you

• Experience in residential building, construction estimating or home modifications.
• Confidence preparing accurate estimates for building, renovation or modification works.
• Strong understanding of residential construction, compliance requirements and home modification practices.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, site information and OT recommendations.
• Experience working in funded or budget-controlled service environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted working relationships.
• High-level literacy, numeracy and computer skills.
• Understanding of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.
• A practical, improvement-focused mindset and commitment to quality outcomes.
• A trade qualification in carpentry, building or a related construction field would be highly regarded.
• Experience with At Home, Home Care Packages, NDIS or similar programs would be an advantage.
• Exposure to OT recommendations or home modification scopes would be desirable.
