About the Role:

The Community Development Coordinator is part of the wider Community Services Team, focusing on creating and implementing community strengthening programs, utilising trauma-informed, strengths-based, and harm minimisation approaches to design initiatives. The Coordinator collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver and implement community-based programs and promote opportunities to be a part of advocacy.

Our team works together to create trusted places where people gather, community is strong and lives are transformed. We walk with each person to understand the unique circumstances of their life and we empower them to live well through practical and reliable support.

About You:

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree minimum qualification, or a Diploma and at least three year’s experience in Community Services, Community Development, Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, or relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated experience working with people experiencing marginalisation and vulnerability
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating community engagement, consultation and codesign
  • A current and valid Working with Children Check

Essential Competencies

  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding of and commitment to social justice and community development
  • Ability to work from trauma-informed, strengths-based and harm minimisation framework
  • Ability to develop and manage effective programs, including design, delivery and ongoing review
