Bowden Lodge, Bowden SA | Permanent Part-Time - 24/7 roster

Not every support role gives you the opportunity to lead.

At Bowden Lodge, you'll do more than support people to achieve their goals. You'll be a trusted mentor, a cultural advocate, and a senior presence that helps create a safe, respectful and empowering environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men. Based at Bowden Lodge, this role combines hands-on support work with leadership, coaching and operational coordination responsibilities.

We're looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Support Worker who thrives on supporting others, building capability within teams, and creating positive outcomes for people experiencing disadvantage.

What's in it for you?

  • SCHADS Level 3 + Super + Salary Packaging
  • Ongoing learning and professional development opportunities
  • Employee Assistance Program and wellbeing support
  • Reward and recognition programs
  • Work within a supportive and values-driven team
  • Opportunity to lead by example and make a lasting impact

The Opportunity

This is more than a frontline support role.

As a Senior Support Worker, you'll provide direct support to clients while acting as a senior practice leader during shifts. You'll help guide and mentor Support Workers, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, support service coordination activities, and help ensure clients receive culturally safe, trauma-informed and person-centred support.

Working closely with Team Leaders, Case Managers, Coordinators and allied health professionals, you'll play a key role in supporting clients to build independence, strengthen life skills and achieve their individual goals.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing high-quality direct support and capacity-building opportunities
  • Building strong, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients
  • Providing mentoring, coaching and guidance to Support Workers
  • Supporting the day-to-day operation of Bowden Lodge
  • Assisting with documentation, case coordination, audits and service improvement activities
  • Supporting implementation of client plans, behaviour support strategies and risk management practices
  • Assisting with roster coordination and maintaining continuity of support
  •  Creating a culturally responsive environment where clients feel safe, respected and empowered

About You

You're a natural leader who understands that great support starts with strong relationships, cultural respect and genuine care.

You enjoy working alongside people from diverse backgrounds, helping others build skills and confidence, and creating positive outcomes for those who need support the most.

You'll Bring

  • Certificate IV in Community Services, Disability, Mental Health or a related field
  • Minimum three years' experience in community, disability, housing, homelessness or support services
  • Experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities
  • Experience working with people impacted by homelessness, mental health challenges, addiction or social disadvantage
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring, coaching or providing leadership to frontline teams
  • Experience in case coordination, stakeholder engagement and client-focused documentation
