About the role
As a Senior Integration Engineer, you will design and deliver API led, event-driven integrations that enable seamless connectivity across our national platforms. You will work at the heart of our Enterprise Integration Platform (MuleSoft Anypoint Platform), connecting critical systems across ERP, HRIS, Clinical, Rostering and CRM, while enabling scalability for growth, acquisitions, and future digital capabilities including AI.
You will collaborate closely with architects, technology peers, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality integration solutions that improve data flow, reduce manual effort and enhance both customer and employee experience.
This 12 month maximum term role is for someone who brings deep experience in real time, high volume integrations, enjoys solving complex problems, and takes pride in mentoring others. You will help shape integration standards, patterns, and reusable assets, contributing to a high performing team and delivering technology that makes a meaningful difference.

What you will be doing
- Design, deliver and operate API-led integrations on the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, enabling secure and scalable connectivity across enterprise systems.
- Enable automation and workflow orchestration, reducing manual effort and improving operational efficiency at scale.
- Design and deliver integration solutions aligned to enterprise standards, driving consistency, security and reuse.
- Enable real-time data exchange and system synchronisation, improving data quality, visibility and decision-making.
- Define and enforce API security and lifecycle management practices, including policy implementation, access control, versioning and governance across the integration platform.
- Contribute to and deliver integration components for system implementations, upgrades and data migrations, including M&A initiatives.
- Operate and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to accelerate delivery and enhance reliability.
- Partner with stakeholders to shape and deliver integration solutions that meet business outcomes and strategic priorities.
- Own and continuously improve integration performance, resilience and supportability across the platform.
About you
You are a technically strong integration engineer who enjoys working in a values led organisation. You bring a balance of deep technical expertise and stakeholder engagement, with strong communication skills, and you care about the impact your work has beyond the technology.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in IT or a related discipline.
- Deep, hands-on experience delivering enterprise-scale integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
- Proven experience in implementing and managing MuleSoft API Management, including API lifecycle, governance, security and policy enforcement.
- Strong capability in designing and implementing API-led, microservices and event-driven architectures across complex, multi-system environments.
- Proven track record managing high-volume, real-time integration workloads with a focus on performance, resilience and scalability.
- Advanced understanding of integration protocols, standards and patterns (REST, SOAP, RAML, JSON, XML) and their application in enterprise contexts.
- Experience working within cloud-native environments (Azure), leveraging CI/CD and DevOps practices to enable efficient, automated delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and leverage alternative integration technologies (i.e. TechnologyOne ETLs, Power Automate, PowerShell etc.) and patterns where appropriate, balancing standardisation with pragmatic delivery outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, uplift capability and contribute to a high-performing, collaborative engineering culture.
- Exposure to MuleSoft AI Fabric or emerging AI-enabled integration capabilities (e.g. agent-based orchestration, intelligent automation).
- The ability to work in harmony with BaptistCare’s mission and values.
Experience in healthcare, aged care or complex enterprise environments will be highly regarded.
