About the role:
William Carey Court is a 110-bed residential aged care facility in Busselton, part of BaptistCare WA. We’re looking for a practical, reliable Maintenance Officer to help keep the site running smoothly and ensure our residents and staff have a safe, comfortable environment every day.
This is a general maintenance role focused on the day-to-day upkeep of the facility. Our Property Team manages electrical, plumbing, HVAC and other specialist trade work through external contractors, so you won’t need to hold a trade licence. - Act as the on-site point of contact for contractors, coordinating access and attendance
- Complete basic repairs and upkeep, including patching walls, minor painting, assembling furniture and hanging pictures
- Move furniture and equipment, receive deliveries and purchase maintenance supplies
- Prepare vacant rooms for new residents and assist with basic troubleshooting of phones and site systems
- Help maintain a safe, clean and well-presented environment for residents, families and staff
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and BaptistCare policies and procedures

- Be part of a positive, inclusive and welcoming workplace culture
- Immediate start available
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A trade, gardening or handyman background is highly regarded but not essential. What matters most is a practical, hands-on approach, a can-do attitude and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get things done
- Experience coordinating and managing property-related contractors
- Understanding of operational budgets and budget processes
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills
- Current driver’s licence
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, welcoming and well-presented environment for residents, families and staff
