About the role
Our new 130 bed Griffith Centre in Canberra is conveniently located near the CBD, Lake Burley Griffin, shopping precincts and local parks. This energy efficient and environmentally sustainable building has been designed to ensure we can meet the care needs of the local community now and into the future.
BaptistCare Griffith is an innovative and modern looking facility, built to cater for people with low care, high care and dementia care needs. All our rooms feature ensuites, the facility also offers extra services
As the Care Service Employee- Lifestyle Officer, you will drive the engagement and participation of residents into a range of social, recreational and cultural activities, as well as mental health and wellbeing programs that empower our resident’s choices and independence. In running recreational activity programs, you will ensure individual residents’ needs, values, spiritual and cultural preferences are taken into account.
We offer a competitive salary based on your previous experience from $31.13 - $34.59/hr + superannuation + penalties + salary packaging.
Skills and experience
- You have completed Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle (or willing to complete)
- Experience working with people with Dementia (highly desirable)
- You hold a current NSW/ACT Drivers License and will be able to take clients on outings
- Senior First Aid Certificate is essential
- You have previous experience in caring for the elderly within an Aged or Community Care setting
- You have highly developed organisation and time management skills
- You have an understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
