About your new role:

We are seeking a caring, fun-loving Lifestyle Coordinator to join our residential aged care team in Brookton.

The Lifestyle Coordinator is responsible for the person-centred implementation of leisure, lifestyle, and therapy activities with the residents at our Aged Care Facility.

You will also work closely with the Occupational Therapist &/or Physiotherapist to deliver quality therapeutic interventions with our residents including the preparation, application, and evaluation of programs and activities.

Your role also includes:

  • Reviewing, mentoring, and rostering of new staff
  • Compiling a life history profile for each resident including social, emotional, cultural, and spiritual preferences and needs
  • Developing an individualised Lifestyle Plan with each resident and/or their representative
  • Ensuring residents are informed of planned activities in advance
  • Assigning responsibilities for therapy and leisure program implementation to rostered Therapy and Leisure Partners
  • Facilitating a creative work environment

Skills and Experience:

  • Completion of Certificate III Allied Health Assistance or equivalent accredited training or progression towards
  • Previous experience is well regarded, however not necessary  
  • Demonstrated understanding of person-centered principles and the ability to engage people in meaningful activity
  • Understanding the needs of people with dementia in relation to leisure and therapeutic activities are essential
  • Ability to complete busy workload and respond to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Willingness to obtain or provide proof of Up-to-date 2023 Influenza & three (3) Covid-19 Vaccinations (or medical exemption)
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical if required
  • Willingness to obtain a new National Police Clearance (cost covered)
