Are you passionate about making a difference in the community?  Do you bring extensive experience in Tenancy Management and Team Leadership? If so, we would love for you to join our amazing team at BaptistCare’s Gimbawali Place located in Carlingford as a Housing Manager.

Your Role: 

As a Housing Manager, you will be responsible for providing team leadership, site management, tenancy and asset management services, as well as connecting residents to the services they need to sustain their tenancies and achieve their goals. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our housing services and maintaining a positive community atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage housing in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Conduct environmental audits and annual unit inspections
  • Manage allocations for new social housing tenants in accordance with Housing Pathways
  • Handle breaches of tenancy, including rent arrears and neighbour disputes
  • Prepare and lodge documents, and represent the organisation for NCAT hearings
  • Promote community vitality and organize social activities
  • Monitor rental payments and arrange payment plans
  • Coordinate property inspections and maintenance
  • Identify residents at risk and collaborate with support services and other stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with community housing regulations and legislation

Skills & Experience:

  • Hold a Diploma or degree, or equivalent with professional experience
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and experience, preferably in housing, or other community services field
  • Demonstrated leadership experience to effectively develop and support staff
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the business activities of Housing
  • Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of BaptistCare’s Christian identity and promote the organisation’s values through interactions at work
  • Excellent skills in building effective customer relationships, building a community and maintaining a welcoming and harmonious ambience
  • Demonstrated capability to manage diversity and implement social inclusion strategies
  • Ability to successfully manage tenancies and negotiate leases
  • Ability to work in harmony with, and support the Purpose and Values of BaptistCare
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to liaise professionally with all stakeholders
  • High level computer skills
  • Strong organisational, negotiating and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability address on-site emergencies
  • Experience of working with individuals with complex needs
  • Proven organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise own and team workload
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with professionalism at all times
  • A Valid NSW Driver's License
  • NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment purposes
  • A current First Aid Certificate
