About the role:

BaptistCare is seeking an experienced Fleet Specialist to provide specialist expertise across our national fleet, ensuring operations are safe, compliant, cost-effective and fit for purpose.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you’ll provide advice across the vehicle lifecycle, analyse fleet cost and performance, manage supplier service delivery, and identify opportunities to improve utilisation, efficiency and value.

We’re looking for someone with experience managing a large, geographically dispersed or national mixed fleet, with strong commercial capability across fleet strategy, lease versus buy decisions, cost optimisation and operational efficiency.

Working with stakeholders and fleet providers nationally, you’ll use data and commercial insights to support decision-making while contributing to fleet sustainability and continuous improvement.

About you:

• Relevant qualification in fleet management, procurement, asset management, supply chain, business, finance or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Proven fleet management experience within a complex, geographically dispersed or national organisation.
• Strong experience managing a large, mixed fleet, with the ability to work across different vehicle types and operational requirements.
• Demonstrated capability in national fleet strategy, lease versus buy considerations, cost optimisation and operational efficiencies.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle lifecycle management, including acquisition, leasing, maintenance, registration, replacement and disposal.
• Strong commercial and analytical capability, with experience analysing fleet cost, utilisation and performance to identify improvement opportunities.
• Experience monitoring supplier performance and working effectively with fleet management providers, leasing providers, manufacturers, dealerships and other suppliers.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the confidence to provide clear, practical specialist advice.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and exercise sound professional judgement.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and reporting tools.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and ability to travel interstate as required.

Highly regarded:

• Experience supporting or managing a national fleet within aged care, community services, healthcare, not-for-profit or another regulated environment.
• Experience with fleet management systems, telematics or asset management platforms.
• Experience with electric or hybrid vehicle transition and fleet sustainability initiatives.
• Knowledge of Australian vehicle leasing, fleet funding and fleet governance practices
