Fixed Term Case Worker

About the role:

As a Case Worker, you will play a pivotal role in providing high quality support and clinical casework to our clients within a trauma informed care framework. You will work closely with individuals and families, offering practical assistance, guidance, and referrals to relevant services.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and deliver services that promote cohesion and collaboration across the sector.
  • Provide direct service delivery, casework, referral, and follow-up for clients.
  • Offer information, education, and group work services as required.
  • Developing awareness of relevant government and non-government agencies that enable appropriate
    access, support, pathways and referrals for clients, and representing BaptistCare in appropriate local
    networks
  • Understanding the impact of complex family, social and care needs and demonstrated ability to refer
    to and work in consultation with other professionals
  • Conduct case management and advanced assessments in accordance with national standards and BaptistCare policies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local service providers, ensuring effective access and referrals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally diverse communities.
  • Contribute to team objectives by working independently and collaboratively, supporting team development and goals 

Skills and Experience:

Essential

  • Qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, Counselling, or other relevant fields (Diploma minimum)
  • Experience in social or community work, counselling, and group facilitation
  • Extensive experience in trauma-informed, client-centered approaches.
  • Excellent communication skills verbally and written
  • Advanced skills in risk assessment and case work
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated but also work collaboratively as part of a wider team
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders, services, agencies, departments, and government and non-government organisations
  • Holds a current and valid Working with Children Check or willing to obtain prior to employment 
  • Current drivers’ licence
