About the Role

 

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager - Residential Aged Care to act as the key commercial advisor and finance business partner to Residential Aged Care operational leaders across BaptistCare's national portfolio.

Reporting to the Head of Finance-Residential & Retirement Living, you will partner closely with Residential operational executives and management teams to deliver strategic financial guidance, commercial insights and performance analysis that support operational decision-making, improve facility performance and drive sustainable growth.

The role will play a key part in budgeting, forecasting, funding optimisation, financial performance improvement initiatives, capital investment decisions and business case development. You will provide meaningful financial reporting, identify risks and opportunities, and translate financial insights into actionable outcomes that improve accountability and operational performance.

 

About You

  • Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or related discipline
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial finance, business partnering or financial management roles, preferably within Residential Aged Care, healthcare, community services or other regulated service industries
  • Strong understanding of aged care funding, including AN-ACC funding models and performance drivers
  • Demonstrated experience managing occupancy, accommodation revenue and commercial performance initiatives
  • Strong financial modelling, forecasting and analytical capability
  • Experience developing business cases and supporting investment decisions
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel interstate as required

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Residential Aged Care leaders to provide commercial advice, financial support and strategic guidance
  • Support Residential operational executives and management teams nationally to improve financial and operational performance
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and capital expenditure planning processes
  • Analyse facility financial and operational performance, identifying opportunities to improve profitability and sustainability
  • Monitor and optimise key drivers including occupancy, AN-ACC funding performance, accommodation revenue, care minutes and staffing economics
  • Analyse labour utilisation and agency staffing expenditure to identify improvement opportunities
  • Develop business cases and support investment initiatives and strategic projects
  • Monitor industry and regulatory funding changes and assess financial impacts on operations
  • Deliver monthly reporting, commentary, performance benchmarking and commercial insights to stakeholders
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities and work collaboratively with operational leaders to implement action plans
  • Challenge assumptions, enhance accountability and support evidence-based decision making across the portfolio
