Your Role:
As a Qualified Chef, you will enable individuals to live well by understanding and meeting the nutritional needs of our residents. You are passionate about food and how it can create connections across health, happiness, and community. You will know the importance you play in residents’ wellbeing and commit to meet the highest standards in hygiene, food service, and meal experience. Your requirements will include (but not limited to):
• Follow BaptistCare cyclic menus and assist the Chef Manager in consulting residents and making local changes to the menu.
• Prepare, cook, and serve food for large numbers of people.
• Prepare any special dietary requirements.
• Ensure that all meals are served at the correct temperature and in accordance with BaptistCare food safety program.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and audits.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
• A Qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III of Proficiency, Certificate IV, or other recognised certification).
• At least 5 years’ Chef experience post completion of apprenticeship in a large catering or multi-outlet environment.
• Previous Aged Care experience desirable
• Demonstrated application of knowledge of HACCP, FSANZ, and NSW Food Authority standards and principles.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively unsupervised.
