About the Role
As Assistant Company Secretary at BaptistCare, you’ll be at the forefront of governance and organisational excellence. Working closely with the Company Secretary, senior executives, and the Board, you’ll play a key role in driving best-practice governance, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and supporting the smooth operation of Board and Committee meetings.
You’ll be the trusted advisor on governance matters—drafting and refining policies, preparing agendas and minutes, and liaising with a wide range of stakeholders. If you’re legally qualified, you’ll also provide practical legal support, review and negotiate documents, and help respond to regulatory matters. Every day, you’ll collaborate with passionate colleagues and contribute to a culture of integrity, safety, and respect.

About you
To be considered, you will have:
• Law degree (or relevant discipline) and current Practising Certificate, or company secretarial/governance qualifications.
• 5+ years’ experience as a lawyer or governance professional.
• Advanced communication, attention to detail, and time management skills.
• Integrity, initiative, and a commitment to BaptistCare’s mission and values.
• Desirable - Additional governance or company secretarial certifications, Board experience, and professional memberships.
