Senior Case Worker - Domestic Violence and Accommodation Services

HopeStreet provides various services to individuals, families and communities. Our service is a safe and welcoming space and plays an integral role in supporting women and children who have experienced Domestic Violence.  We walk alongside and support families to build a heal and reconnect and build their resilience in a supported environment

Role and Responsibilities:

HopeStreet DVAS provides specialised casework through a trauma informed therapeutic care framework. DVAS creates an environment of safety and healing that allows caseworkers to walk alongside women and children and empower them to make healthy choices and realise their strength and identity to increase their independence and thrive into their future.

  • Providing casework to families and connecting them to services where required
  • Supporting families identify goals and monitor progress and outcomes
  • Co-facilitate group work in skill-based learning
  • Work collaboratively with local community organisations, government departments and schools in prioritising the needs and ensuring supports are aligned with family’s goals
  • Advocate at a systems level and work together to develop strategies to create change

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, Counselling or other relevant fields (Diploma minimum)
  • 3+ years’ experience in working in case work or counselling role with women, children and young people who have experienced Domestic and Family Violence.
  • Experience in social or community work, counselling and group facilitation.
  • Extensive experience working in a trauma informed, client centred way.
  • Holds a current and valid Working with Children Check/Working with Vulnerable People Registration
  • Current drivers licence and ability to drive pool vehicles as required
