About the role

Reporting to the Hotel Services Manager, your role is to relieve the Chef Manager as required for planned and/or unplanned leave as required. BaptistCare Residential Care division have 18 residential aged care facilities so travel is a requirement for this role.

You will lead and manage staff and resources efficiently to deliver the highest quality and safety in food services, working alongside the Residential Manager.

When not posted to a care home, you will be based at our Illife Centre in Macquarie Park. Tool of trade car can be provided as part of remuneration package

Duties include:

  • Oversee commercial cooking operations
  • Oversee high quantity daily cooking
  • Stock control, adhering to the budget
  • Ensuring high quality presentation of all meals to residents
  • Management of the facility Café (if applicable)


About you

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 3-5 years in a similar role within aged care industry
  • Tertiary qualifications in Hospitality, Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Applied knowledge of HACCP food safety principles
  • Ability to travel to various locations across NSW & ACT as required
  • Sound competence and experience in the management of high-quality food services, e.g., fine dining restaurant or similar
  • Sound experience in kitchen management, effective staff leadership, staff development, financial control, and customer service.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in the preparation of menus in accordance with dietary requirements
