About BaptistCare Cooinda Court

Just a short stroll from the nearby shopping centre and local train station, Cooinda Court is an aged care home stretched out amongst two tranquil landscaped gardens.

You can enjoy the barbeque facilities and peaceful retreat areas whenever you like. Inside, our recently renovated dining room offers a comfortable spot to enjoy a bite to eat. The library, piano and sewing rooms also provide beautiful settings in which to sit and relax, by yourself, with friends or with your family – it's your choice.

 

About the role

As the Recreational Activities Officer, you will drive the engagement and participation of residents into a range of social, recreational and cultural activities, as well as mental health and wellbeing programs that empower our resident’s choices and independence. In planning and organising all recreational activity programs, you will ensure individual residents’ needs, values, spiritual and cultural preferences are taken into account.

2 positions available:
1 Permanent Part Time- 3 days a week (Thurs, Fri & Sat- 9-5.30pm)
1 Casual

 

Skills and experience

  • You have completed Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle (or willing to complete) and experience working with people with Dementia
  • You hold a current NSW/ACT Drivers Licence and will be able to take clients on outings
  • Senior First Aid Certificate is essential
  • You have previous experience in caring for the elderly within an Aged or Community Care setting
  • You have highly developed organisation and time management skills
  • You have an understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
