About your new role:

The chef is a key role with responsibility for the efficient execution of facility-based catering whilst providing effective leadership of the kitchen employees on a shift basis. 

Duties:

  • Prepare, cook and serve food in accordance with menus ensuring a high level of quality and presentation is achieved at all times according to agreed standards.
  • Assist the Head Chef in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen in their absence.
  • Meet agreed food cost targets.
  • Maintaining HACCP procedures and practices. 
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and plant in good condition.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in the hospitality environment, creating and motivating an innovative team that is able to achieve high standards of Customer Service
  • Must have a high expectation in terms of quality and satisfaction and the ability to share this with the team
  • The ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Capacity to lift up to 20kg.
  • Commitment to providing a customer-centric approach 
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical
