Turn your passion into purpose — and make every service the highlight of someone’s day!

If you’re a passionate and innovative Chef who lights up when food brings people together, this is your moment!

At Yarra Rossa, we believe great food is one of life’s biggest joys — and in a retirement village, it can be the heartbeat of the community. As our Chef Manager at Yarra Rossa in Red Hill, you’ll lead a cafe where your craft, leadership and care will be felt at every table, every day.

This is more than a Chef role. It’s a chance to create moments: comfort, celebration, and connection — through truly great food.

Why you’ll love this opportunity

  • Work in an environment that offers work/life balance - with no late nights and only occasional weekends.
  • Lead an energetic team in an exciting Café Environment and to set the standard for quality, warmth and experience.
  •  Design menus with residents — listening, adapting and bringing local flavour and favourites to life.
  • Be a visible, engaged leader — connecting with the village community and building genuine relationships.

About you (the Chef we’re excited to meet)

You’re the kind of leader who brings standards + soul. You’ll also bring:

  • A recognised Commercial Cookery qualification (e.g., Cert III or equivalent)
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience cooking in a similar environment or restaurant experience
  • Demonstrated experience applying HACCP principles
  • Proven experience leading a team and setting a values-based culture
  • A genuine desire to deliver an exceptional food experience.

Why BaptistCare?

We’re also committed to providing a range of employee benefits to our staff that will make your life a little easier.
