Head of Procurement

Drive strategic sourcing, strengthen supplier relationships, and optimise procurement processes to enhance organisational success. 

About the role: 

BaptistCare seeks a Head of Procurement to manage resources ethically and drive community impact. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will oversee all procurement functions, ensuring strategic sourcing, value-for-money purchasing, and strong supplier management that align with organisational goals. 

You will lead a team of procurement specialists to achieve commercial benefits such as cost efficiency and value creation while upholding ethical standards. As a result of our recent national merger, this role involves assessing current procurement practices, identify areas for improvement, and implementing best practices to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. You will ensure high standards of probity ensuring that all procurement activities are conducted transparently and ethically in accordance with established governance frameworks. This is a national-based role with a requirement to travel as needed.  

About you:  
The successful candidate will have: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification 
  • Extensive experience in a similar procurement role 
  • Strong procurement systems knowledge; advanced Microsoft Office skills 
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of diverse teams (procurement, finance, organisation-wide) 
  • Positive workplace culture contributor 
  • Effective at prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
