About the Role

As a part-time Kitchen Support Worker, you will assist the Cook and work alongside volunteers in the operation of the kitchen. This role will suit someone looking for a fast-paced position, as the centre caters up to 100 people. You will be tasked with preparing, cooking and serving food for clients who attend the drop-in service. You will also be responsible for monitoring and coordinating stock rotation and food deliveries, including safe acceptance of food donations.

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate in food safety or willingness to attain
  • Previous experience working as a kitchen hand in hospitality is preferred
  • Barista skills are essential
  • Understanding and willingness to comply with COVID safety cleaning protocols
  • Demonstrated compassion and empathy towards marginalised society member
  • Willingness to undergo a police check
